Daren Cenac
Mr. Daren Cenac is currently SLASPA’s General Manager. He began his career at SLASPA in 1999 as a Mechanical Engineer managing a technical team of approximately 15-20 persons. In 2005 he was appointed as the Senior Engineer within the Engineering Department where he is credited for a number of successful initiatives including being actively involved in developing and thereafter leading SLASPA's Electricity Conservation Plan for over a decade, upgrading and modernization of mechanical and electrical equipment and assets at the airports and seaports to meet regulatory standards as well as the transformation of the technical section as a very competent and professional unit within the region. Mr. Cenac became a member of SLASPA’s senior management team from 2009.
As SLASPA’s General Manager Mr. Cenac is responsible for the overall management of the organization, including oversight of the development of all of SLASPA’s facilities and has direct responsibility for a number of departments in accordance with SLASPA’s Act 8.12 Revised 2001 .
Mr. Cenac holds a Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Project Management from Henley Business School at the University of Reading (UK) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus of Trinidad and Tobago.
He is a locally Registered Professional Engineer, a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a Member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers as well as a Member of the Association of Energy Engineers. In the year 2018, he became a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and is also a Member of that Institution.
Mr. Cenac is a past President of the Rotaract Club of Gros Islet and a past President of the Association of Professional Engineers of St. Lucia.
