Marina Andrea St. Rose
Andrea has over twenty-five years of experience in the accounting profession and the provision of corporate and business advisory services having first started with the then KPMG firm in St. Lucia. She previously served as Director at the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, St. Lucia office up until March 2005. In addition to managing an audit portfolio comprising the largest businesses operating in St. Lucia, she also held responsibility for Learning and Education (L&E) within the firm, and was part of the Technical Team for PWC in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.
During 1993- 1999 she was employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers in Jamaica as a Senior Manager. In that capacity she held responsibility for some of the largest clients of the firm,
She brings with her a wealth of experience garnered from the private and public sectors in Jamaica. Although she has specialized in the financial services industry, she has provided assurance, business advisory, taxation, legal and corporate services to many local and regional institutions across a wide spectrum of industries.
Andrea is currently a Partner at BDO ( Eastern Caribbean) an international financial services firm and heads the taxation and business advisory practice. She is also the Head of Audit and Accounting Quality Management ( HAAQM) at the firm. She also holds equity interests in Bespoke Corporate and Fiduciary Services Limited, a Registered Agent operating in the International Business Services industry.
Andrea currently serves as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Eastern Caribbean and Vice President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean. She also serves as a member of an advisory group of the International Accounting Standards Boards ( IASB) that advises the IASB on the implementation of IFRS for SMEs, the SMEIG. In addition to being a Chartered Accountant, Andrea is an Attorney-at-Law, a Chartered Governance Professional, a British Accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator, and a Certified International Arbitrator and a Certified Fraud Examiner. She is listed by the Eastern Caribbean Supreme as a Court Appointed Mediator. Additionally, Andrea is a Trustee of the Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund that was established to finance the Caribbean Court of Justice, to perpetuity and is currently the treasurer of the Saint Lucia BAR Association.
She was Called to the Bar in England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B (Hons)) degree from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Wales, also in the United Kingdom.
